best subscription box holiday gifts 2015

All the best subscription boxes, all perfect for last minute gifts – just remind your recipient that you didn’t want them to get an old box – you really wanted them to have the newest one, so their subscription will start after Christmas!  Don’t forget to check out our best monthly clubs for holiday gifts list, and our digital subscription gift ideas!

Subscription boxes really do make awesome gifts, because they keep on giving and remind your recipient all year round of your thoughtfulness! As always, check out the 1500+ subscriptions in the directory for additional choices and gift ideas, including niche boxes – just do a search for whatever your gift recipient loves (e.g., Harry Potter, crossfit, perfume, coffee, etc!)

Stitch Fix ($20+, email or purchase physical gift card if you have a gift to give later)

For as low as $20 to cover your recipient’s first Fix or as much as $1000 for an entirely new wardrobe, Stitch Fix makes a great gift for the picky fashionista or the woman who has no idea what to wear!

Julep Maven ($20 per month for 2, 4, or 6 months – schedule your email gift certificate online)

Julep is a fully customizable beauty subscription, with a focus on nail polish! Your recipient will receive a welcome box, then each month she’ll be able to select her own polishes and beauty products – no duplicates, no colors she doesn’t need, plus she’ll get $40 worth of products each month as well as Julep Maven privileges like free shipping + 20% off.

Bespoke Post ($45 per month – print digital gift card or get expedited shipping through 2pm EST on 12/22 – see site for details)

This is such a fantastic men’s lifestyle subscription box, and many of the available boxes are suitable for women as well. Instead of one set box, your recipient will be able to select his own (and skip months), so it’s tailored perfectly to his style. We don’t know anyone who doesn’t absolutely love their Bespoke Post boxes.

Birchbox ($10 per month, $20 for men – schedule notice of gift by email)

Birchbox is a beauty sampling subscription and the reason why I tell everyone to gift Birchbox is because subscribers (and gift recipients) can review their items for points, and then spend them in the shop! Combined with coupons it’s a fantastic deal. Gift this one to someone who’s willing to review their items for points. Birchbox Man is also available (and is really awesome because it includes a lifestyle item each month!).

Bluum (1 month for $39, down to $26 monthly for an annual subscription – schedule an email or ship tomorrow for $4.95)

Bluum is a monthly mom and baby subscription box customized to the age and developmental stage of your child, up to 5 years old. Even better, Bluum now offers Bluum choice, where you can pick the exact products you’d like to receive! If you were thinking about gifting a Citrus Lane box (which is now closed), this is the right choice, especially for new moms!

Barkbox ($29 per month – select the date of your email or print out a gift certificate)

Woof! This box is such a great gift because every box is themed, including exclusive dog toys that match!

Loot Crate ($20 per month, print out a gift voucher!)

Every geek and gamer pretty much knows about Loot Crate already – if they’re already a subscriber, you can level up their geek style with a Level Up socks, accessories, or wearable subscription! Loot Crate also offers Loot Pets (match your geek style with your dog!) and Loot Anime for manga and anime fans!

Kiwi Crate, Tinker Crate, Doodle Crate, and Koala Crate ($20 per month, cool printable gift boxes for underneath the tree!)

Kiwi Crate and Koala isn’t on our list for last minute gifts for kids – we think that most small children (including our own!) won’t appreciate a gift certificate, but we could be wrong! However, as parents, we couldn’t think of a better gift than pre-planned awesome activities and crafts with our kids. Tweens and teens would probably appreciate a fat gift subscription for Doodle Crate (arts and crafts projects) and Tinker Crate (maker activities including electronics, physics, and other STEM projects)!

Try The World ($39 for one box, $105 for 3)

This is an amazing bi-monthly subscription box that will take you around the world with your taste buds! It makes an excellent gift because of the monthly theming – a new destination to explore each month, including food, recipes, and a culture guide – and because of the gorgeous packaging!
